Winnie Deep’s latest offering on Garden Groove Music, “Conversations with God”, is a powerful 9 track album. He is joined by fellow musicians, including Adam De Smidt, Clint October and T.I.B to deliver an eclectic album. Conversations with God is packed with incredible sounds such as hard-hitting groove and percussions laden with vocals to set you on a sonic journey. The intro track, “Love is the Way”, begins with a magical harp sound that gets you ready for what is to come in the entirety of the album. The diverse production styles aim to have you truly “Think and Imagine” as one of the tracks is so eloquently named. It gets you dancing and in a beautiful headspace where it’s just you and your thoughts in a rhythmic spell. Songs like “Under The Moonlight” and “Dooba” are lighthearted offerings that get you smiling as your body cannot help but sway from side-to-side. The afro house delight heard in the track, “Conversations with God” is a chance for you to take yourself less seriously and surrender to the goodness that is found in the abundance of percussion. Winnie Deep delivers a beautiful rendition of what love could sound like in “A Conversation About Amy”, it is a fluid production which exudes rhythm and lots of beautiful percussion. The album ends with “Lost in a Groove” which keeps the listener craving for more and wanting this sonic journey to never end. Robyn K’s dreamy vocals on this song elevate the potency of "Lost in a Groove". What makes this album so irresistible is the invitation to the listener to create a sense of hope for a better tomorrow delivered through the synths, basslines and piano samples.
